Lemongrass Tea

Updated: Oct 10, 2020

Some of my beverages of choice after plain and simple water of course, is different kinds of coffee (filter coffee, cappuccino, latte, soy latte) and plain tea and tea with different flavors such as ginger, lemongrass, masala, fennel, mint, cloves and cardamom and cinnamon.

I love lemongrass tea any time of day, made with fresh leaves from my yard. I especially enjoy my late afternoon cup of tea with some munchies.

First I boil some water with some lemongrass leaves and some chopped ginger. Next I add tea leaves with some cardamom skins (which I mix in with my tea leaves into the tin each time I use cardamoms, I try not to discard the skin) and keep boiling. Lastly I add in some milk, hmm hmm good!! You can add sugar or honey, your choice. I drink it as is.

Notes: I did not put any quantities for this as I just make the tea as needed with no exact amount of water. I just put water in a pot and start boiling, and I add in the other ingredients. You can also steep the tea as per your needs. Some like the tea lighter, in which case I add a smaller amount of tea leaves and dont steep and boil for long and I might add a little more of the milk. If someone likes a strong tea, I would add more tea leaves, and steep and boil the tea for longer, and the end result would be a stronger tea, with robust flavors.
